Frequently asked questions when using Multidex

06/05/2023

Multidex is made of all natural ingredients, is very easy to use, and is one of the most effective wound healing (speed of healing) products on the market. There is no direct competition to Multidex in the market.

1. Features benefits of Multidex

Multidex is a primary wound filler or dressing that is formulated to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. Multidex is available as a gel or a powder and is comprised of maltodextrin (D-Glucose Polysaccharide) and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). These two key components provide the following actions in the promotion of chronic wound healing:

- Multidex speeds up the body's ability to heal by being highly chemotactic. In other words, the maltodextrin attracts millions of white blood cells (leukocytes, macrophages, lymphocytes) as well as fibroblasts and endothelial cells. The white blood cells help in the cleansing and debridement of the wound bed, while the fibroblasts help in the production of collagen which speeds up the closing of the wound site.

- Multidex is bacteriostatic (restricts bacterial growth) and bactericidal (kills bacteria) to many types of bacteria. The ascorbic acid creates a slightly acid environment (pH 4.0 - 4.2) that is hostile to bacteria while aiding in collagen synthesis.

- Multidex helps to create and maintain a moist environment which is beneficial for granulation (fibrous connective) tissue growth and epithelial (primary body tissue) proliferation.

- Multidex mixes with wound exudate (fluid) to help control wound drainage and to protect against wound dehydration.

- Multidex controls odors within 24-72 hours while decreasing the amount of purulent exudate present in the wound.

- Multidex penetrates all irregularities of the wound leaving no dead space.

2. Frequently asked questions when using Multidex

Q: Since Multidex contains glucose, can it be used on diabetic patients?

A: Yes, Multidex is safe for use on diabetic patients. Multidex is not absorbed systematically when used in wounds. Furthermore, it does not have any type of affect on patients’ blood glucose levels.

Q: How long can Multidex be left in place? How often should the dressings be changed?

A: The frequency at which Multidex is changed or re-applied is dependant on the level of exudates from the wound. The normal change frequency is once per day; low draining wounds can be changed less frequently while high draining wounds will require more frequent changes.

Q: Do you have any clinical studies proving that Multidex heals faster those other products?

A: Multidex is not classified as a pharmaceutical and therefore is not subject to the same types of tests and clinical studies that would otherwise be expected.
